Buried Landscapes explores the concept of “ecological restoration” at landfill sites, revealing that what appears to be a natural healing process is actually an act of controlling and reshaping nature. Green landscapes conceal polluted histories, creating an illusion of healing while masking environmental damage. By highlighting the contrast between beautification and true restoration, the project questions whether these transformations genuinely heal the land—or simply hide human manipulation beneath a decorative surface.
